Crochet earrings
Hi there! Hope you have not forgotten me ;) It's been a long time since my last post. I have been experimenting a lot, mostly with crochet, these days. I even came up with my very own pattern for Crochet Jhumkas. This is my 1st written pattern and I am proud of it :D
By the way I learned crochet when I was in school and I mostly made clothes for my Barbie. Unfortunately I did not keep a note of any of those patterns I created :( For that matter I did not even know about patterns then, I just did whatever came to my mind. Will post those pics too once I find them.
For now, take a look at my latest work- Crochet earrings.
I'm planning to sell them once I work out all the needed details. But if you see something here you would like to buy, you can leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible :)
Do you like them? Posting from my mobile, so please bear with the image quality and any typos. Awaiting your comments..

Amigurumi Owl
Hi! Today I am going to share one of the Amigurumi projects I have been working on. I totally fell in love with Crochet and have been exploring many Crochet patterns online! :) In that process, I came across these adorable little Owls by Kristi Tullus ( This is a free pattern. Check her blog: http://engsidrun.spire.ee/blogs/blog1.php/free-pattern-crocheted-owls). They are so cute!
I really loved the colour combos she used, they are so bright and cheerful! I thought of using different colours, but when I saw the tiny pink balls of yarn that had been in my stash for eons, I felt it's time they turn into a tiny pink Owl :) So here it is.
It is not perfect. But considering this is only my second attempt at Amigurumi ( the first one is also an Owl, a baby one, tinier than this one :) ) I think it still turned out kind of cute.
Hope you liked it. I am off to hunt online for new Amigurumi doll patterns now. Will be back with another post soon! :)

Another baby card
Hello! I'm back with another baby card. With a cute crochet duckling :) I think I have a subconscious preference for yellow & white combination. Realised this after I made this and going through my previous cards confirmed it :D
I cut the circle from the front side of card stock and pierced holes(with crochet hook) at equal distances. Followed this tutorial on the Dutch Sisters' blog to make the scallop edges. Here's a video I found on Youtube explaining how to do that chweet duckling :)
Hope you liked it. Please leave your comments :)

Crochet Owl
Hello people! I have been experimenting with Crochet and found this Cute Owl pattern on Love the Blue Bird blog. It is easy enough for beginners. I have never followed patterns before, so I didn't understand it completely and I messed up the last part. However the owl turned out to be ok ( When I showed it to DH, he recognised it as an Owl, so.. :D ). Go on, try it. I'm sure you'll love it :)

Origami Ganesh
Lord Ganesh or Vinayaka is one of the Hindu Gods with the head of an elephant and the body of a human. I made his model in Origami for last year's Vinayaka Chavithi, a festival celebrating his birth. It had been in my Drafts since a year and I have forgotten all about it.
I followed the instructions(by Mr.Kamlesh Gandhi) I downloaded from www.origami-mitra.com long back. I think they have removed the instructions now :(
Here is the one I made.
You can find many variations for Origami mouse on web. I chose a simple one.
Hope you liked it. Please leave your comments :)
P.S.: Some of you have requested for the instructions. They are copyrighted to Mr. Kamlesh Gandhi and I am trying to reach him for the permission to share. Will update the post after I hear from him. Stay tuned :)

I'm back :)
Hello friends! Sorry I have been away from my blog for almost a year. Earlier I used to sit for hours together making cards or painting and that has caused me a severe back pain. So I was asked to rest and be away from crafting for a while. At the same time, I was also going through a rough phase in my personal life. I couldn't concentrate on anything and felt like my creativity has all gone away. My mind got numb and frozen.
But even though I was away from my blog, I had been browsing through all your blogs and craft tutorials. You all have inspired me in one way or the other. I have decided not to worry about my Creative block and been trying to learn new things. I have been reading a lot. I visited some of the awesome places which were on my list. I have been into photography and bird-watching. Now I can recognise most of the birds of India :)
And you know what?! I felt my creativity coming back to me , but my health won't permit me to work continuously for a long stretch of time and my Doctor said though I can get back to crafting, I must take breaks in between. So in those short intervals I could afford, I have been experimenting with clay, I learnt how to make jewelry and for the past two days, I have been learning how to knit on loom, and also new stitches in crochet.
I took pics of the jewelry I made, but they didn't come out good. Have to figure out how to photograph jewelry. Ideas anyone?
Though I am afraid I won't be posting as regularly as I did before, I promise you I'll be in touch :)
P.S. I forgot to tell you that I was chosen as the 'Pin it to Win it' Winner on their Facebook page by Inspired by Stamping. My goodies have been shipped today. Eagerly waiting for them to arrive :)

Baby Card
Hello everyone! One of my close friends is expecting a baby and she'll be leaving for her parents' home next week. So made this card in a hurry.
It has lots of layers. For the base, I reused a plain cardboard piece that came along with my husband's shirt. I glued tissue paper on it and cut the other layers from the scraps from my previous projects.
The image is from SweetDreamsBaby - Black Leaf Studios, but I drew it and coloured it using Markers and WaterColour Pencils, since I didn't have Printer. Also I wanted the hair of the baby to be different and to have a touch of mine. I attached the clouds to the moon using double-sided adhesive foam, to give dimension. I punched a heart on one of the layers on the top and hung the moon using a string of wool. Similarly the little smiling stars.
For the inside of the card, I layered the papers and drew and coloured the little Pram. Glued the punched flowers. I forgot to take the pics before writing the message :( So had to blur the names.

Keep Smiling!
Hi everyone! I know I have been away for a long time. We went on a long trip and I fell sick after returning home. I wanted to craft, but my mind was all foggy and I couldn't come up with any worthy idea.
Feeling better today and finally my brain is in working mode again. I bought some crepe paper recently. I saw a very nice tutorial for crepe flowers on a blog before the trip and I wanted to give it a try. Here are my flowers.

Magic Slider Cards...
These are the two Magic Slider Cards I have been working on this week. I always wanted to try them, but was a bit scared I would waste the papers ( I sometimes tear up the paper in frustration :D )
We are going to my in-laws' place tomorrow and we have four nephews and two nieces. I have been trying to make a card for everyone, but couldn't find the patience and time. I could make only two and these are for the youngest nephews. Hope they like them :)
I have followed two different tutorials for these cards. The one with the li'l monkey is done using this tutorial. The image is hand-drawn referring to an image I got from a friend.
Here's the tutorial I found on a blog by Sharon.

Neon...
Today's challenge at 365Cards is about using NEON colours. After a search in my stash, I found some old acrylic yarn lying around and also a flower loom. The loom was my Mom's n I didn't know how to make flowers with it.
Anyhow I tried n tried and got something that looks a bit like a flower, but it was not good enough to include in my card. Then I got this great idea. Why not fold the flower in half and make it look like a butterfly? So I made one, n also a flower which does look like a flower :)
This is my butterfly
and flower...
Together...
And finally, here's my card.
I used black cardstock, as I found it highlights the NEON colours. The sentiment is handwritten.

Feeling Floral...
This is my card for today. Its very simple. I wanted to do something that has lots of flowers n warm colours. Since I didn't have such patterned papers, I decided to make one. I took a paper out of my sketch book ( it has that creamish white colour n is strong enough) n painted simple flowers on it with Red, Yellow n Orange Acrylic paints with a Cotton ear-bud :) I let them dry n ta-da! My paper is ready.
I glued it to White handmade cardstock n attached a piece of Red cardstock to the front layer.
I painted a cake on a Red Handmade cardstock with White Acrylic paint.
The inside is simple with just "Happy Birthday" written on a red card.

Pretty Pink!
We have a friend's wedding coming up this month n I've been planning a card, but was caught up with other things. Finally I got some time n here it is.
I quilled the pretty pink roses n leaves :) Here is the closeup.
There are lots of online tutorials for quilling roses. You can check them out or here is a link. http://wandasworx.com/pages_blog/quilled-roses-the-easy-way/
The inside of the card looks like this.
I left some extra card on the top to make holes n make it a wall-hanging if wanted. The sentiment is handwritten. The man n woman silhouettes are also drawn n cut by me. I cut the apertures using Paper cutter. I'm thinking of getting the punches. But I find them a bit pricey. Have to keep on searching.
